Information applications supporting the core activity and the functional areas have a key role to play in the business success and the improvement of the operational efficiency of companies. The question is, to what extent are these applications able to serve the requirements of the given areas and promote attainment of the business objectives. The corporate management system Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is applied in virtually every organization; ERP offers integrated support in numerous areas of the operation of a company. In the struggle to win customers, the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system supporting customer-related processes is an increasingly indispensable tool. These systems - supplemented with, most commonly, sector-specific systems backing up the basic activity - primarily support the processes on an operative level, recording transaction data, although the extraction of corporate-level data necessary for management decision-making from these systems represents a new challenge. Possible responses to this challenge come from data warehouses (DW) providing the foundation for managerial information systems and business intelligence (BI) technologies and systems.
So it might appear that companies today would have no problem when seeking a solution in the above categories. Suppliers offer a wide range of systems that have proven to work well on the market, generally together with the services required for their introduction into operation. However, experience shows that the introduction of a system can be fraught with problems and pitfalls, which can even thwart the introduction of the system. What is more, even systems that are successfully up and running (and used correctly) may sometimes not generate the expected results i.e. efficient growth, a reduction in costs, better information for decision-making. In other words, there is no return on the investment. In the majority of cases the reason is that during the extremely complex process of launching these systems insufficient attention was given to certain elements in the course of preparation or implementation, or there was a lack of the special skills needed to carry out the tasks successfully.
In harmony with its stated mission, AAM provides its clients with the sort of help that - in many cases in a verifiable manner - complements the existing knowledge, skills and experience that are naturally available on the side of the client and supplier, and by providing this input it ensures realization of the results expected from the introduction of the systems and the attainment of the organization's business objectives. In keeping with our consultancy independence, we offer services in the above areas independent of the system and supplier, making good use of our methodological knowledge, sectoral skills, market understanding and broad consultancy experience primarily in customer-side tasks. Our cooperation extends from preparing strategies and concepts for projects through the selection of a suitable solution and supplier right up until launch support, including project management, quality control, and even the planning and transformation of system-related processes.
The fact that we foster good professional contacts with market players supplying products and services in the ERP, CRM, DW and BI areas enhances the efficiency and profitability of the support we provide.
Our services in the field of Business Application
-
Establishment of the strategy, concept related to the applications, determining the objectives: we help our clients in defining those managerial-level strategic demands and goals that the application being launched is expected to resolve. We draft (perhaps as part of a total informatics strategy) the organization or section application strategy, taking account of the business aims and strategies of the organization. Once we fully understand the objectives, demands and peripheral conditions, we draw up - bearing in mind the solutions available on the market - the concept for the introduction of a system (ERP, CRM, BI) offering a solution to the requirements of a given area. We support management in reaching the necessary strategic and conceptual decisions.
-
Selection of system and supplier: using our methodological background, experience and wide-ranging market information we assist our clients in finding the most appropriate system for the given requirements, and a partner suitable for establishing long-term cooperation and capable of offering professional system implementation and support. We draw up the requirement specification for the system to be launched and offer backup in the selection and competition procedures (including, where necessary, public procurement) all the way from the drafting of an invitation to tender right up to signing the contract.
-
Support for the roll-out project: we provide help to ensure that the results of the roll-out project come up to the expectations of management and the target goals, with professional and administrative support of the project's customer-side management or with independent project quality control.
-
Results, product monitoring, testing, and quality control: in order to ensure that the results meet the expectations, we assist not only with project quality control but where necessary we help with quality monitoring of products developed in the course of the project. In addition, the monitoring and testing of the compatibility of the final system also receives highlighted attention. We compile the testing methodology preceding the handover, we supply professional supervision in the testing procedure, and where requested we can also take part in the testing.
-
Establishment or conversion of the business processes and operational regulations related to the introduction of the system: one of the critical conditions of a successful system launch is that not only should the system be developed to meet the needs but that the relevant processes should also be logically adapted to the system. We help in establishing this harmony between the system and the processes through the auditing, redesigning and (once up and running) the fine-tuning of the system-related processes. At the client's request, we will draw up the process regulations and rules of procedure necessary for daily operations.
